This rare vintage black and pink floral Geoffrey Beene dress is from one of our favorite estates of designer vintage clothing and it is truly spectacular. This incredible vintage dress comes with its original fabulous satin covered belt that is just under 4″ wide. The gorgeous ultra wide pointed collar adds drama to the neckline and the sheer bishop sleeves are so airy and light. The pink flowers pop in contrast to the rich, dark organza fabric. There are front covered buttons and a front hidden zipper. The fabric is sheer with a lined front bodice and built in taffeta slip. We are showing a photo of Elizabeth Taylor wearing the same style Geoffrey Beene dress to 1976 Publicists Guild Awards.
The woman who originally purchased this dress bought clothing from all of the important American fashions designers from the mid to later part of the 20th century, and they were all in as new condition when we acquired them! A vintage museum quality masterpiece from Mr. Beene! We estimate this to fit a modern day US size small. Whether you are wearing it or buying it for a collection, it is a beautiful piece of fashion history!
