Vintage English Chesterfield Sofa in Hand-Dyed Cigar Brown Leather, 1950s

Original 1950’s cigar brown leather Chesterfield club sofa in lightly restored condition with fully buttoned base and solid walnut turned feet. This is a really very rare find, you almost never come across early 20th century Chesterfield club sofas and never with the period correct leather unless it’s in pieces. This sofa is just about as timeless as you could ever hope to find in terms of the lines look, feel and model, it’s the fully buttoned tradition tufted model so the highest in the range, the sofa has a wonderful, distressed patina the leather colour was restored maybe ten years ago and has nicely aged since then In terms of the model this sofa is the highest in the range, it has the solid beech and oak frame, a coil sprung base which is has each spring hand tied eight ways, hessian padded and supported, the base cover is a new jute hessian, the feet, custom made and hand turned from solid slabs of walnut then fitted with 12mm threaded axles so they can easily be removed The leather hide as mentioned is totally original, it has all original patina marks as you would expect based on the age and fair use, we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom Dimensions Height:- 76cm Width:- 218cm Depth:- 90.5cm Seat height:- 46.5cm
