Vintage Design
The super rare, original Coconut Chair is an excellent example of 50’s design. The chair stands out because of its iconic design and humorous undertone. The designer himself compared the chair to a coconut sliced in pieces. He reversed the colors: the outside is of a light colour, while the one piece cushion is in covered in brown (or another colour). The sculptural shape of the seat shell forms a triangular shell. The middle corner , which forms the backrest ia a little longer than the two corners that form the armrests. This sharp provides a comfortable seat.
This piece shows some tiny signs of use, like some stains on the fabric and the upholstery came bit loose from the seat. Also some spots and a scratch on the scale on the back and some spots on the base (picture 15 shows a spot of loss of chrome)
The dimensions are 80 cm H x 32 cm seats in the front and ca 28 cm in the back x 102 cm W x 80 cm D
