An English antique low rush seat chair with exaggerated high ladderback. The carved details on this chair are very intricate and quite exceptional. The ladderback crossbars are carved and punctuated with flame top finials. The legs and cross-stretchers are all turned and the front cross bar is incised on top & bottom with “notches” going across.

A pair of 1880’s mahogany Victorian lady’s and gentleman’s parlor chairs upholstered with a floral needlepoint pattern trimmed with brass nail heads. In fantastic condition, the needlepoint was hand embroidered by Marie Jadwick around 1910 and the chairs have been well protected since then. The backs still retain their original gold velvet upholstery. These are very sturdy and comfortable.
