This is a LARGE RARE matted hand-colored antique botanical chromolithograph that dates to c1880. This is one of a small grouping that we recently purchased in Paris. It is done by Henry (Henri) Lambert. Lambert created large decorative botanicals that were used as reference for designers, artists and engravers. His work was executed with botanic accuracy and beauty. Lambert also worked in the Sevres porcelain industry where his work on porcelain reflected his influence of flowering botanicals on ceramics. Today his work is auctioned at art galleries throughout the world. This botanical features tulips and daffodils. The chromolithograph is done in a soft palette of yellow, white, pale pink, green and taupe tan tones. There is a very beautiful quality to the work. The vibrancy of the antique botanical is quite rare! Note too the intricate detail and beautifully designed forms. RARE to find in excellent antique condition and in large size. Numbered and signed in stone by the artist. 11.25 x 17. inches. Comes matted in a white 18 x 24 custom mat. Please see other botanicals from this series in our shop.

Offering a complete set of a series of four framed Lithographs under glass from the 1930s entitled Canadian Girls. The set is from original pastel paintings and features the Halifax Girl as a sailor at the steering wheel of a ship, the Toronto Girl at the helm of a horse drawn buggy, the Montreal Girl ice skating with a fur muff and the Winnipeg Girl with a hockey stick. W each is presented with a deep olive green ground. The set was framed and sold by iconic retailer John Wanamaker’s store. Wanamaker’s was the first large retailer in the USA and was known for many retailing firsts including to use price tags. Each frame has a sticker on the back with a line for a price. Each lithograph print Carrie’s the original painting initials PGM of the artist.

Arthur Singer (1917-1990) was an American artist who specialized in bird illustrations. This lithograph is signed in plate and is No 3 in a Series of paintings by the artist. It features both the flora and fauna of three states. For California we have the California Poppy and Quail. Fir Pennsylvania the Mountain Laurel and Ruffled Grouse. And for South Dakota, the Pasque Flower and Ring Neck Pheasant. The print is framed in a Mid-Century thick gold frame.

This is a lovely vintage etching by French artist Adrienne Ret (1900-1996), of a pair of Medieval horseback riders, framed in a nice wooden frame with gilt touches and signed and numbered. The subject matter has been lightly rendered in the typical style of the artist, in line and wash of blue and browns.
Limited edition 20/100, signature on lower right corner. Note the damage to the paper backing.
