Vintage Design
Beautiful double-drawer large writing desk by Herbert Hirche for Holzapfel. It has an archive drawer on the right-hand side and left and right 5 drawers with removable dividers, as well as 2 plastic extensions, left and right on the front side and a white-veneered wood table-extension on the backside for attending 2 guests. This desk is entirely in the Bauhaus tradition and is in an unusually good condition. The manufacturer of the desk is marked in the top-drawer. There’s another tag underneath the tabletop saying ”Max Planck Institute”; this renowned German psycho- analytics science institute commissioned the desk in the 1950s.
