This vintage early 1940s black velvet gown by Kamore was originally designed to be a hostess gown or luxurious loungewear for the 40’s woman who entertained in style. Though they aren’t worn as hostess gowns anymore, we think these pieces make perfect evening dresses! This one is gathered in the front and closes with covered buttons and hooks and eyes. The dress has a zipper that starts at the waist and the hooks and eyes above the buttons can be secured or you can secure the top one only to create a keyhole illusion! We estimate this to be an approximate size small, but encourage you to use the measurements as a guide. The waist is fitted but the bodice is somewhat loose fitting, as was the style for the era.
