This chest consists of two parts and offers a wealth of storage space.
The Cha Tansu features eight drawers, five storage compartments with sliding doors (one with glass), and one compartment with folding doors. In the section with the glass sliding doors, you’ll find an elegantly shaped étagère made of curved wood.
Enjoy the authentic Japanese atmosphere that this tea chest brings to your interior, with original details such as wooden frames lined with rice paper and sliding doors adorned with hand-painted decorations.
Dating back to the 1930s, this chest shows signs of use appropriate to its age but is otherwise in very good condition.
Cha Tansu, also known as Chabitsu or Chagama Tansu, is specially designed for storing and presenting tea-related items used in the Japanese tea ceremony
